Despite the reality that internet gambling is now a billion dollar industry, and countless thousands of new bettors around the world sign on every day to wager at online casinos, there are still millions of newcomers to the environment of online betting who do not as yet have a clear understanding of much of the catchphrases used in web wagering, and betting on athletic event in general. However, knowledge of these ideas is indispensable to understanding the games and policies of wagering:

ACTION: Any type of wager.

ALL-IN: In poker, all-in alludes to a player has put all of their money into the pot. A second pot is developed for the players with additional chips.

ALL-UP: To bet on several horses in the same contest.

ANTE: A poker term for placing a required sum of chips into the pot prior to the start of each hand.

BRING-IN: A required wager in 7-card stud carried out by the gambler displaying the lowest value card.

BUST: You don't win; As in vingt-et-un, when a gambler's cards exceed a value over 21.

BUY-IN: The minimal value of chips required to appear in a match or tournament.

CALL: As in poker, when a wager is the same as a previously made wager.

CHECK: In poker, to remain in the match without betting. This is applicable only if no other players wager in that round.

CLOSING A BET: As in spread wagering, meaning to place a bet equal to but converse of the starting bet.

COLUMN BET: To bet on any of the three columns of a roulette table.

COME BET: In craps, the same as a pass-line bet, but made after the shooter has ascertained his number.

COME-OUT ROLL: A crapshooters first toss to establish a number, or the initial roll after a point is established.

COVERALL: A bingo term, which means to blanket all the numbers on a bingo card.

CRAPPING OUT: In craps, to toss a two, three or 12 is an immediate defeat on the come-out roll.

DAILY DOUBLE: To select the champions of the first two matches of the tournament.

DOWN BET: To bet that the result of an event will be lower than the smallest end of the quote on a spread bet, also known as a "sell".

DOZEN BET: In roulette, to bet on one or more of three sets of 12 numbers, one-12, etc.

EACH WAY BET: A sports wager, which means to wager on a team or player to win or position in a match.

EVEN MONEY BET: A bet that pays out the same value as wagered, ( 1-1 ).

EXACTA: Betting that 2 horses in a contest will finish in the exact same order as the wager - also referred to as a " Perfecta ".

FIVE-NUMBER LINE BET: In roulette, a bet carried out on a block of 5 numbers, for instance 1-2-3-0, and 00.
